5 Weeks Old

Tummy time!
Good morning, Daddy!

Sleeping in the carseat

Always have to grab onto something!
First nap in his crib!
Yesterday Ashton was 5 weeks old! He is changing quickly. This week has been the easiest so far. He has been sleeping a lot at night---usually 10-12 hours, only waking up to eat every 3 hours or so. I have put him in his carseat next to the bed for the last several nights because he seems more comfortable and I can rock it (in my sleep) if he wakes himself up. His alert hours during the day are getting better too. He's content to lie down on his Gymini mat for awhile and play. He has started to smile a little bit! Not regularly, but I can tell they are real smiles! I usually have to work for it and act very silly, but it's fun. :) I have started a little box of clothes he is growing out of. It makes me sad. :( But I guess it's a good thing! I finally organized all the clothing people gave us and hope to get out the rest of the thank you cards this week! Babies are supposed to have a growth spurt at 6 weeks, which makes them excessively hungry and fussy, so I'm not looking forward to that if it's true.  Yesterday he took his first nap in his crib in his own room! He looks so tiny in there! It was weird having him in another room. He breathes pretty loudly, which comforts me, so I kept having to run in there to check on him, since I couldn't hear him from across the hall. It may be a more difficult transition for me than for him! :)
