6 Months Old

I will now attempt to do monthly updates, since I can't even keep track of the weeks anymore! Being a mom is certainly a full-time job, as wonderful as it is! Ashton won't have his next doctor's appointment until almost 7 months, but I weighed him and he is up to 18 lbs! From what I read, that's just perfect for his age. He accompanied me on a roadtrip to Iowa and back. I am lucky to have such a happy, calm baby, since the drive was 14 hours each way (2 days each time)! He got to meet my Uncle Jim and Aunt Sarah in Chicago and my Aunt Jean and Uncle Chris as well as my Grandma Schmitz (his great-grandmother) while we were in Iowa. I can tell he LOVED playing with his 3-year old cousin, Juliette and it will be fun to see them grow up together. I made a friend in Rochester named Esra who has a baby girl named Leyla, born just 8 days after Ashton! We have been spending a lot of time together and it's great to see the two babies interact and change.

Things Ashton does now: 

1. Sits for several minutes unsupported, if I put him there.
2. Pivots around and slithers on his stomach to get from Point A to Point B. Not quite crawling.
3. Definitely teething. He's been drooling for a few months, but is now chewing like crazy.
4. Eats fruits in the morning and vegetables in the evening. We'll be starting yogurt and some meats this month!
5. Loves to laugh. Every time we tickle him, kiss him, or lift him up in the air. Often if anyone else laughs, he'll start too.
